Gladstone Central covers about 3.1 square kilometres. Auckland Inlet closes it off to the north, Auckland Creek and Side Street to the west, the railway line to the east, and Scenery and Tank Streets to the south. At the 2021 census, 1,550 people lived inside those lines.

You are here for work, an appointment, a show at the Entertainment Centre, a night before an early flight, or a one-night stop off the highway. You park once and everything else is on foot. This is most people, most of the time.
Sand is the entire point and you want it before breakfast every day. Tannum Sands and Boyne Island are about twenty minutes south of us — we would rather tell you that than have you drive it twice a day.
