Pet friendly accommodation
in central Gladstone.
Dogs stay for $40 per night in our pet-friendly rooms, with a $200 refundable deposit. Assistance animals are always free, in any room.
Yes — dogs are welcome here. You book a pet-friendly room, you tell us the dog is coming, and there is a free parking space directly outside the rooms. The dog goes from the back seat to the door without crossing a hotel foyer.
We are at 167 Goondoon Street, in the middle of Gladstone — so the dog gets a walk on the main street and you get dinner within a couple of minutes of the room.
You park at the door.
Every room has a free parking space on site, undercover, immediately outside. With a dog in the car after a long drive, that is the whole difference. Unloading is one trip, and the dog is inside before it has had time to get worked up about a new place.
It also means an early-morning walk does not involve waking anybody. You open the door and you are on Goondoon Street.
Four things we ask.
None of them are unusual, and none of them are buried in the terms.
Say you are bringing a dog when you book. Not every room here is set up for dogs, and we cannot always move you on arrival.
Please do not leave dogs unattended in the rooms — for their sake and the neighbours’.
Keep dogs on a lead anywhere in the grounds and the shared outdoor areas.
The $200 is refundable. Leave the room as you found it and it is returned at checkout.
Where to take them.
For a short one, Goondoon Street is straight out the front, with footpath the whole way through the CBD.
For a proper walk, East Shores foreshore is about five minutes in the car. Dog-friendly lawns, a lit promenade and the harbour in front of you, which makes it an easy one to fill an evening with. Keep them on a lead in our grounds and the shared outdoor areas.
Not every room takes dogs — ask early.
Any of the five room types can be requested, subject to which pet-friendly rooms are free on your dates. If you are staying a while, the Family Room Apartment has a full kitchen and two bedrooms; for a family with a dog, the Family Room has a bathtub as well as the shower, which is useful after the foreshore.
Or ring reception on 07 4843 7900 and say you have a dog.
Questions we get asked.
Yes. Dogs are welcome in our pet-friendly rooms for $40 per dog, per night, plus a $200 refundable deposit that comes back to you at checkout provided the room is left as you found it. Mention the dog when you book so we put you in the right room — not every room here is set up for dogs.
$40 per dog, per night, plus a one-off $200 refundable deposit for the stay. Assistance animals are exempt — they stay free, in any room, and you do not need to pay the deposit.
Always, in any room, at no charge and with no deposit. You do not need to book a pet-friendly room for an assistance animal, and you will never be asked to pay the dog rate for one.
No — please do not leave dogs unattended in the rooms. It is the one rule we are strict about, because a dog alone in an unfamiliar room usually ends up distressed and barking, which is unfair on the dog and on the guests either side.
Possibly — other pets are welcome on enquiry. Ring reception on 07 4843 7900 before you book rather than after, and we will tell you honestly whether we can accommodate it.
Goondoon Street is directly outside for a short leg-stretch, and East Shores foreshore is about a five-minute drive with dog-friendly lawns, a lit promenade and harbour views. Keep dogs on a lead in the motel grounds and shared outdoor areas.
Reception is open 7:30am to 9pm. After-hours check-in can be arranged — tell us your arrival time when you book, and mention the dog at the same time so the right room is ready.
You’re already in the
middle of it.
Park once. Walk to dinner, the foreshore, the gallery. A clean, quiet room waiting when you’re done.
